Don’t understand the Cyberpunk 2077 crunch?
PS5 vs PS5 digital?
Xbox Series X vs Xbox Series S?
-Ps5 digital/xbss 15m (use properly), 10m dumb people who can’t use product properly.
-PS5 disc drive console ~120m
-Xbox Series X (if console has no internet needs, out of box, to play retail game products) ~100m
…if xbsx is like xbox one with internet requirements out of the box, before retail games can work, initial system update patch? = max ~60m.
This is the pre-order survey for the US market.
-72% disc-based PS5 console.
-30% Xbox Series X.
-8% Xbox Series S.
-79% tried to buy PS5
-51% tried to buy Xbox Series X or Xbss
“I wonder what makes funny in your statement. CDPR shares profits for a long time, on time, and with no excuses. Maybe it was laughter through tears 😛 Seriously, I have the impression that some people preferred us to be bad just to have a foundation for their ideological narrative.”
-there is 9 million unsold with 3 stock, just sitting in a warehouse in the world. Close to $1 billion of stock.
-Cyperpunk 2077 will have 7-8 million unsold stock. Over 500k unsold stock, sitting in a warehouse.
-sharing 10% of yearly profits, of unsold stock with developers? No
What is a development crunch?
It’s a period of time where everybody is on board, where everyone working on the project, is present, where all aspects of the project gets scrutinized, and if any errors occur, there are hands on deck.
This is in essence the idea behind a crunch.
Typically about 6 months before a video game product goes gold, all hands on belt and you go over everything / testing.
What is odd about the CD Projekt RED’s crunch, it’s happening after Cyberpunk 2077 went gold.
Cyberpunk 2077 goes to print and CD Projekt RED goes into crunch?
When a video goes gold, that’s it. Product goes to print and the team did the best they could. But in the digital age, gaming publishers now extending “crunch” after going gold until launch.
This could leave developers crunching 9 months of the year and in some cases, over 12 months crunches due to delays.
CD Projekt RED going to crunch after Cyberpunk 2077 has gone gold, is odd? Has major bugs been detected? Major work on DLC content, after-sale revenue streams? IDK?
Not everyone has access to the internet. The average world city/town of the world in 2020, 40% has zero form of internet connectivity.
Apartheid South Africa, as an example, placed all the native south africans into 1/8th of the space within the circle/town/city. That’s about 54 million people living in 1/8th the space and 4 million people getting to play in the rest of the circle/town/city.
If 40% of the average world circle/town/city has no access to the internet, could leave millions off the plate.
The Playstation 4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 can be bought and played by anyone within a circle/town/city.
But the Xbox One and PC versions of Cyberpunk 2077 can only be bought/used by people with access to the internet.
Then the quality of the internet access. PC Download Code as a retail product, up-to 75% can’t use the product properly and may not buy/use.
Xbox One retail product of Cyberpunk 2077 will have up-to 60% lost sales. (Xbox One Platform)
5 million launch units for each platform. Anyone can buy/use the PS4 version and then look at my apartheid example. A racist built system. Racism built into the system. “Special” Cyberpunk 2077 xb1 & pc products that the “special” people within the circle/town/city, can buy/use.
I did write asking if CD Projekt RED’s products were racist. It’s a video game product. Why does your products limit sales/use to certain areas within the town/city. Instead of letting everyone in the town/city buy/use your video game product.
There is 9 million unsold Witcher 3 stock (Xbox One + Launch PC) product, just sitting sitting in warehouses around the world.
Close to $1 Billion in unsold stock.
The last 5 years, internet connectivity jumped from 40% to 60%. Countries treating internet access as a human right.
Cyberpunk 2077 product line up, 6-7 million unsold retail stock (Xb1 & PC).
CD Projekt RED keeps iterating that developers get 10% of the take. & CDPR also took money from the Polish government. But CDPR releases 2 products that was designed to block large percentage of people from buying/using the products.
5 million PC retail units – 4 million units unsold.
5 million Xbox One units – 3 million units unsold.
5 million PS4 units – no lost sales.
= 7 million Cyberpunk 2077 unsold.
These are people who wants to buy the products, but can’t use the products and don’t buy.
Witcher 3 PC Game of the Year Edition, drm-free & no-internet requirements, just install & play, no lost sales. 1M units per year, sold 5 million.
Witcher 3 PC Launch Edition, internet requirements to download 56mb of data to complete the installation. 5M units launched, 2-3M units unsold. Lost Sales.
CD Projekt RED needs the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 to work from beginning to end, without major bugs preventing progression, before going gold. Because non-internet users will be buying/playing Cyberpunk 2077 PS4.
Now CDPR goes into crunch for the DAY 1 Xbox One & PC products. No non-internet users can buy/use these products.
Hence high lost sales.
PS4 sold 120 million units.
XB1 sold maybe 60M units.
PS5 expected to sell 120M units.
PS5 Digital expected to see a sales drop-off after 15M units.
This is the Digital Age vs Retail vs Lost Sales.
Are CD Projekt RED developers who are crunching the Cyberpunk 2077 product, happy about losing 10% of $420K lost sales, just sitting in a warehouse not selling?
I wouldn’t be happy with money left off the table.
CD Projekt RED likes to act like they care about the user/gamers but in reality, millions get denied access to buy/use product for arbitrary reasons.
My point. It’s a fucking video game. You want as many people to play your product. Especially if they want to buy the product.
Cyberpunk 2077 is so hyped but 7 million people can’t use the products, let alone buy.
If people don’t have access to the internet, how are they going to pirate the game? arbitrary reasons.
It seems Microsoft is trying to correct it’s major mistake with the Xbox One console. (Xbox One initial system patch download out of the box before retail games could play).
Xbox Series X (non-internet users can now use the console out of the box) is designed to sell-through the unsold Xbox One Cyberpunk 2077 stock.
5 million Xbox Series X launch units.
5 million Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One units.
3 million unsold Cyberpunk 2077 XB1 units.
= how fast can Microsoft’s Xbox Series X sell-through unsold Cyberpunk 2077 XB1 retail stock?
Cyberpunk 2077 should sell 11 million and 4 million unsold PC retail stock. This is the hope.
On a good day, 4 million unsold PC stock.
On a bad day, 7 million unsold PC + Xb1 stock.
My point, even on a good day, 4 million people, who wants to buy Cyberpunk 2077, 4 million people CD Projekt RED is telling to fuck off. Instead of letting anyone buy/play your video game products.
After Cyberpunk 2077 I am no longer interested in buying CD Projekt RED products.
Last EA video game product i bought? SimCity (always-online)
Last Ubisoft game product i bought? Anno 2070 (always-Online)
Last Activision game product i bought? Diablo 3 (always-Online)
Are you getting the idea.
DRM & internet-activated retail products, takes a product worth $60 and turns it into a $0 product. Hence why Valve-Steam $5 sales are a thing. Not a new $60 products.
Last CD Projekt RED i bought? Cyberpunk 2077 (PC Download Code retail product)
thank you CD Projekt RED for trying. Witcher 3 PC GOTY edition retail, drm-free and zero internet requirements to install/play, retaining product value, and giving more people access to buy/use/play a video game product.
But after Cyberpunk 2077 PC Download Code retail product. I can not support, $0 valued products after booting up, and denying 4 million people who can’t use the launch product from buying/playing.
Cyberpunk is the idea of the corporations not having any interest in the public lives. CD Projekt RED’s products are just that, denying their products to millions of people from buying/using.
Cyberpunk is the idea of fighting the corporations to reclaim human rights.
CD Projekt RED is on the wrong side. The Side against the user/gamer/human being…. Cyberpunk 2077 products.
